We are a small family run business, with currently the 5th and 6th generations still working. The business has been passed down through the family since 1877. 2017 was the 140th year of trading and we have been trading in the same place for all of these years too.
We strive to give our customers the finest quality meat at reasonable prices. We provide a wide range of meats, cooked and raw, from Beef, Pork, Turkey, Chicken and Lamb etc. to Cooked Ham, Corned Beef, Haslet, and Pastrami etc.
We are staffed with 6 fully trained butchers, working in the shop and on catering orders, with 150 years of butchery experience between us all. We all currently hold either a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering or a Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering.
Our sausages and burgers are all made on the premises with our own secret recipe. We make a wide range of sausages from our normal pork sausage to the weird and wonderful, Black Pudding and Strawberry Jam being an example. One thing we can offer our customers is a tailored sausage to meet any of their specific needs, this is something that we will create with us being guided by the customer to what they would like to put in it.
